Singapore is a small island the size of Gush Dan that touches the edge of the Malay Peninsula (part of Malaysia, Thailand and Myanmar). The founder of modern Singapore, Sir Stamford Raffles, settled at a strategic point at the southern end of the Strait of Malacca, a point that is the last stop before crossing the South China Sea. Singapore's location positions it as an important trading point between China and the West. The port of Singapore is one of the largest in the world and is Singapore's main source of income.
Singapore grew from a small fishing village in 1819, to one of the "leopards" of Asia. Today Singapore is one of the strongest economies in the world.
Singapore is located close to the equator and is characterized by tropical weather. It is very hot and humid here, and every day there is a chance of heavy rain.
Singapore has about five and a half million inhabitants, about 75% Chinese, 15% Malays (Muslims), 7.5% Indians and about 2.5% others.
Singapore is a wonderful combination of innovation, futurism and a glorious present alongside a rich and fascinating history. One of the experiences that is an accurate reflection of this is walking on the mouth of the Singapore River. It starts with colonial buildings on both sides of the river. On the one hand the point believed by Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of colonial Singapore anchored for the first time. This is also the beginning of the British government's "establishment of the government" (and also the structure of the new parliament). And on the other hand, Boat Quay, the old Singapore harbor warehouse area and Shophouses that have become an amazing area of restaurants and lifestyle. As you approach by the river, you discover in full force the glittering skyscrapers of Singapore's new business district. Each skyscraper is designed with spectacular architecture and together as a group they are an adequate response but in contrast to the colonial luxury buildings on the other side of the river. When you reach the river and continue, you actually move from the original land of the island to the new land that has been dried and taken from the sea. There on the Esplanade promenade you get Marina Bay in all its glory and the iconic skyline. Half an hour's walk and we got almost the whole story of Singapore. This is just one example out of many that illustrates the experience that awaits you in Singapore.
I did not mention the exemplary cleanliness, order and efficiency in the streets of Singapore, the famous street food centers that have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the amazing experience that awaits shopping enthusiasts. On this and more I expanded separately.
Officially, the rainy seasons in Singapore are, December to March of the following year, and June to September. My personal testimony, as someone who has lived here almost since 2013, the weather is pretty similar all year round. Hot and humid with a chance of significant rain every day. Because of Singapore's proximity to the equator, it is very hot and humid here, so over the years Singapore has made sure to plant lots of trees for shade, and in addition there are lots of areas and attractions in indoor places. There is a lot to do in the indoor areas in Singapore, so there is not too much to worry about. It is more recommended to walk outside in the morning or late afternoon. Walking with an umbrella can also be nice as long as it is not a serious shower.

The weather in Singapore is similar throughout the year. The weather is difficult to predict and the published forecasts have low reliability. Every day there is a chance of significant rain.

The light show at Super trees in Gardend By The Bay takes place every day at 19:45 and 20:45. It is 15 minutes long.
The fountain show on the Marina Bay Sends promenade takes place every day at 20:00 and 21:00. It is 15 minutes long.
In our opinion it is best to exchange at the airport.

The best entertainment areas in Singapore are:
Clarke Quay
Haji Lane
Boat Quay
Robertson Quay
Amoy Street
Telok Ayer Street
Club Street (not an area of clubs)
As long as the hotel you take is in the city center and close to a subway station, you are in good shape.
Particularly good areas in our opinion are:
* Marina Bay on the side of the Marina Center with the iconic view of the Singapore skyline (opposite the Marina Bay Sends). 4 train lines nearby, many shopping malls and an excellent departure point for city tours.
Click here for a recommendation for an excellent hotel in the area.
* Orchard Road The main and glittering avenue of Singapore. A boulevard of glittering shopping malls with a futuristic design, full of places to eat and two train lines.
Click here for a recommendation for an excellent hotel in the area.
* Bencoolen Street - one of the most underrated streets in Singapore at the moment, so you can find relatively cheap hotels. A renovated street in the center of Singapore, access to three train lines, an excellent starting point for city tours, good food and a young atmosphere thanks to the art schools on the street.
* Clarke Quay area - close to the best entertainment area in Singapore and two train lines.
Chinatown
Marina Bay/Merlion Park
The Arab quarter
Orchard Road

Singapore is full of attractions for children. There are quite a few attractions in closed spaces, so you don't suffer from the heat or the rain. Everything is accessible to strollers and if your children have grown up but are still tired, in many attractions you can rent a large stroller or use the shuttle service for a fee.
