Nice to meet you!

Hello, I'm Avichay Elharar, and I'm happy to introduce you to my new project, "Singapore - The Hot Spot". For me it's not just another project, it's really a revolution that I'm going through in my life!

In April 2020 I was still sitting in the spacious chair, in the luxurious office, in the heart of Singaporean bohemia, as an operative manager in a large cosmetics company. When it still seemed that we could overcome the corona crisis rolling like a snowball towards us, the crushing blow came, a tough and uncompromising closure for three months.

Along with the hope (which was shattered again and again), that the corona would disappear from our world, I was rewarded by the decision that it was time for a revolution in my life and the fulfillment of old dreams that had been hidden deep in a drawer since the first decade of my life.

I have always admired tour guides. On school trips, I always walked at the head, close to the instructor, eagerly absorbing their explanations and stories. I was as amazed as they were by the amazing landscapes of the Land of Israel. It was so noticeable that my classmates gave me the nickname "tour guide" or "the guide". Of all the nicknames that stuck with me in my youth, this is one of the nicknames that I liked the most. From the age of 14 I became the main guide at Keiki Kfar-Bloom. Until the age of 22 (excluding the three years of military service as a combat medic in Nahal), at the beginning of every season before Passover, I received the regular phone call from the CEO Guy, who called me to show up for the opening. I loved working as a kayak guide, and I loved the tour guides' explanations of the beautiful landscapes of Israel, but life led me in a completely different direction and the (stunning) urban landscapes of Singapore.

I have been in Singapore for many years, I came here after finishing my first degree. I thought of coming for six months to "get rich" in carts and return to Israel to start real life. What I didn't plan for is that real life would start right here in Singapore and right towards the end of the planned half year. I met a Chinese woman, magic was created and today we are already a family. I continued to work in the world of sales, I reached election management positions behind the scenes. Something inside me always knew that this was not the field that would bring me happiness, that I simply fell into the situation, into the rat race as a wise man once defined ( Robert Kiyosaki ). While I was sitting alone (the wife is an essential worker and the child is not yet born), idly, in my house, memories came to me of my old Avicha, the Avicha of my childhood, the same Avicha who dreamed of becoming a tour guide, who did not imagine himself as an office worker locked between walls from ten to six. I realized that this is my chance to make a change in life and bring back the old Avicha that I loved so much.

At the end of the blockade, my eldest son, Maayan, was born, and shortly after that the project, "Singapore - the hot spot" was born. I started uploading videos on my Facebook page, Instagram and YouTube , and since then I have been uploading content on a weekly basis. I became the Israeli face of Singapore. I am active in all the Facebook groups of Singapore, there is the group under my management, "Singapore - current information from the field and tips for travelers" and I have appeared several times on News 12 with explanations about what is happening in Singapore. I waited patiently until the Singapore tourism schools were back in business and the second I could I signed up for a six-month tour guide course.
