You may have visited zoos before, in Israel and around the world, but Singapore's zoos are a different story. There are zoos, and then there are Singapore's zoos. These gardens are a must-see for any nature lover visiting Singapore and will leave even cynics and those hard to impress speechless.

The largest park is the Singapore Zoo. It's recommended to arrive right at opening at 8:30 AM, when the sun isn't at its strongest, or at 4 PM, just keep in mind that the parks close at 6 PM. At the zoo, you can see a huge variety of animals from all over the world, uniquely displayed at eye level and without fences (no need to worry, there's a barrier, no tiger will jump on you). It creates a feeling that you can almost touch them. I personally love the orangutans who are in an open enclosure, and it's truly an experience to see them.

River Wonders Park is smaller and fully covered, making it suitable for visits during hot hours and rainy weather. In the park, you can see spectacular river (freshwater) animals from all over the world. In my opinion, the highlight of the park is the manatee area (apparently, they live in freshwater, not the sea), especially during their feeding times (2:30 PM). Another highlight in the park is the panda bear enclosure (not related to rivers but still there), which recently welcomed a cute little panda cub.

The Night Safari allows you to observe nocturnal animals during their active hours. Additionally, you can watch a spectacular fire show.

The revamped Bird Park is an amazing and colorful park, allowing you to see thousands of exotic and colorful birds.

Zoo and River Wonders - 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Night Safari - 6:30 PM to 12:00 AM.
